Thinking Black

Offering a selection of academic programmes, Thinking Black aims to encourage young Black British students to critically engage with the works of Black creatives, writers and academics.

The OxNet English programme is run by Dr Richard Lee (Oldham Sixth Form College), in collaboration with academics at Pembroke College, Oxford.


The Orwell Youth Prize

The Orwell Youth Prize is an annual writing competition for young people in school years 8-13. Every year, a theme inspired by the writings of George Orwell is set as a starting point to encourage entrants to think and write critically and creatively about the world around them

The Heritage-360 OxNet programme is run by academics from Durham University, led by Professor Giles Gasper.
