Pembroke Scholars

Launched in 2024, Pembroke Scholars is an Outreach programme which works in collaboration with CredOx to identify pupils in our target regions who do not require the same level of academic intervention as OxNet, however would nonetheless benefit from a bespoke academic programme. The programme aims to:

  • Challenge pupils to think beyond the curriculum, in a critical, flexible and independent manner

  • Raise academic resilience, confidence & curiosity

  • Showcase the variety of subjects on offer at degree-level & the importance of interdisciplinary learning

  • Demystify preconceptions of College life & Oxbridge in general. For more information, please see our Applying to Oxford page.

 

 The programme runs from January-September:

  • Orientation (January)

  • Essay writing workshop (March)

  • Dr Claus Essay Competition (April)

  • Twilight Talks Series (June)

  • Visiting Pembroke (September)

Dr Claus Essay Competition 2024

The Dr Claus Essay Competition is now live.

The purpose of the competition is to:

  • Challenge you to think beyond the curriculum, in a critical, flexible and independent manner

  • Raise your academic resilience, confidence & curiosity

The winning entries will receive a fully funded place on the OxNet Access Week residential at Pembroke College from 4th-9th August 2024.
