OxNet North East was launched on the evening of 18th November at the historic venue of St. Peter's Church in Sunderland. Students from 12 schools were represented, spanning as north as Newcastle, all the way down to Guisborough. Representatives from Oxford and Durham Universities introduced students, staff and parents to the OxNet programme and the Ordered Universe research project, with testimonies from students who completed the course last year. The evening also involved academic taster sessions in Humanities and Science, with students exploring physics and comets, as well as the writings of the first English scientist.
